The Smart HART Modem, model AZ-1SHM, is an innovative field service tool featuring various functions to facilitate field work that utilizes HART communication, in addition to the usual HART signal conversion function that is required of a HART modem.
With model AZ-1SHM, HART devices can be set up and adjusted more efficiently and safely. You can also use it as a tool to analyze the cause if a communication problem occurs.

When the 1SHM is connected to the terminals of a field device, a minute leakage current that bypasses the field device flows through the 1SHM.
The level of leakage current has no effect on DCS operation but may affect the results of the reference pressure input test of a transmitter.
When measuring the current of field equipment, do not connect the AZ-1SHM to the field equipment or the relevant loop. If it is absolutely necessary to conduct the current measurement with the AZ-1SHM connected, please treat the measurements as reference values.
The value of the leakage current is as follows.

Note：Leakage current is the result of functions that require a minute current flow through the AZ-1SHM in order to detect voltage for monitoring tha control loop characteristics and for safe powering of the loop.
